Surf Lesson 5-5-25 by Sea Krew

Portugal

Surf Tip:
• Slide your back foot lower to keep your center of gravity stable when positioning your front foot.
• Look where you want to go to maintain better balance and flow along the wave.

Surf Tip:
• Look back to check if your paddling momentum is enough to catch the wave, and engage your core as the board starts sliding.
• Identify the pocket of the wave to know where the wave’s power is concentrated.

Portugal

Surf Tip:
• Back foot was too far forward and the body was too upright, causing loss of balance.
• Front foot was not fully at 45º, affecting drive — we need to focus on a lower pop-up in the next lesson.

Portugal

Surf Tip:
• Pop-up was well executed, but the vision was downward — you need to look ahead and work on pumping (compress and decompress) to gain more speed without staying static. Slightly tilting your chest forward while compressing will help you stay closer to your center of gravity.
• Front foot was at 90º, which limits your range — adjusting it will help you cover more area during compression.

Surf Tip:
• Your stance is almost there! Notice that your vision is directed towards the nose of the board, and your front foot is nearly at 45º — but it seems slightly shifted to the left.
• Small adjustments will help you find even better balance and drive.
